Bracketron Mount

Part #: JEE-203-07

Most of the time my phone lay in the cup holder. Not exactly a good place for it, mine suffered more than one case of being soaked by a drink. I also tryed a few of the various suction cup style mounts for the windshield, including the one made by Bracketron. Most of the time these ended up in my lap after a bump, or on one case tangled into the steering wheel. I decided to give Bracketron's dash mount a try. This mounts behind the front of the center console facia using the screws for the radio.

Additional Parts:

Tools Needed:
Trim removal tool or Flat tip screwdriver
Phillips screw driver
7mm socket
Ratchet

This is what comes in the bag. Just a stamped metal bracket, a zip tie and a bolt to hold the zip tie on.

Remove the top by prying up on the back side near the windshield with a trim removal tool or a flat tip screwdriver. Once the back is up, slide it forward to clear the tab that holds the front down.

Note:Be careful the plastic is soft and will scratch up.

Remove the two (2) vents by twisting and pulling out on the outer rings. They come out as an assembly.
Remove the two (2) screws from the top. DO NOT drop these. They will find a way to get down underneath everything and cause you to remove more stuff than you need to just to retrieve the one screw.
Carefully pull the center console free of the dash. It is held in by tabs with little metal clips on the ends. Some of the clips may stay in the dash holes, some may stay on the tabs, others may fall down. Make sure you have all of them.
Remove the four (4) screws holding the radio in with a 7mm socket.

Line the bracket up with the screw holes and reinstall the four (4) screws holding the radio in with a 7mm socket.

Note: Try to push the bracket over as far as possible so that it rests against the edge of the center console.

Reinstall the trip for the center console.
If you are going to use the phone mount from Bracketron, you will need to pick up the kit that mounts to the vents. This kit has the mounting plate to fit the Bracketron bracket. Mount the bracket with the supplied screws and nuts.

Adjustable holder installed. Only bad thing is that you can't rotate it, so you stuck wiht the direction you mount it in.

While this is a nice bracket and for the most parts keeps my phone stable when I'm on a smooth surface, it doesn't have enough rigidity to keep it stable when you hit any bumps. It does it's purpose for the most part, but will be relegated to CB mic holder when I install the roll cage and switch over to a RAM mount.

Common Sense and Safety should always be observed when working on your vehicle or doing modifications. Jackstands, wheel blocks, disconnecting the battery are a few of the basic safety precautions that should be used and may not be mentioned in the write ups on this site. You are responsible for your own installation, these write ups are a helpful guideline and should not be taken as an official installation instruction. My write up may be different from the kits currently out there, so alwasy double check the manufacturers installation instructions when installing anything. I try to keep the site up to date with changes that have occured as I discover them, but may not have the latest unless someone lets me know. If you feel that an install is above your capabilities after reading my write ups, I recommend getting together with a club and getting some help. Only a few times have I needed to employe some actual help from a shop to get something done. Usually welding or A/C work. While I have spent many years working on mechanical systems, I am not an expert, nor do I pretend to be one. I hope these write ups have been useful to you.
